And so its now mid may and its raining but theres a hose pipe ban....I know we need to have one as the wildlife in our rivers and surrounding areas will suffer if we dont began to look out our water usage. So dont be tempted to just water the garden anyway. Minimum of 5 people takes just over an hour and you walk away with a finished item or two to boot.At your place or mine.Below is myself and some lovely people who took part in the workshop offered tothem for free during their lunchtime by the Chiswick Park Enjoy Work team.Email me at mailrevampit.co.uk for more details.

Well that was fun Catch my appearence on the Alan Titchmarch Show by going to www.itvplayer.com search for Alans show and watch the episode for the 16th March. Short but sweet I am on there talking about cot quilts and reusing a mans shirt for the back of pillows and cushions the fastenings are all sorted by making use of the shirts button front. We also touched on my memory quilts. I will make a quilt for you using fabrics and clothing you have kept. The idea stems from a friend who asked me to feature her daughters christening gown in a cot quilt. One side is patchworked and the other has the whole gown on it. Simply stitched on so it can be taken off and worn again. A keepsake and family heirloom in one.Email us at mailrevampit.co.uk for more details.Watch the clip soon I am about 30 minutes in as it will be only be on there for 28 days.I also made the cover for the cot mattress which was in waterproof fabric and coud be used as a kneeler in the garden.

Well isnt this bizarre warm end to September fabulous. The long cool shadows and hot sun is making my lovely garden look amazing. What has also been amazing for me was my visit to 100 Design where I came across great companies doing great things that were eco friendly and inspiring. One such company whose words products and offer were fantastic was Ubico a Tel Aviv based studio who treat their city as an urban forest and forage accordingly. They were displaying quietly inspiring seats and tables made from many pieces of wood reshaped and lovingly finished into well designed tactile and moving furniture. I wasnt the only one who liked them they were part of the Conran shop must see trail. Their website www.studioubico.com is lovely too.Another smart outfit are refitting out the handles of old Bakerlite phones into speakers for your ipod or in fact any mobile music player Check them out at www.uncleoswald.com. Quirky funky and bang on trend to boot. These two really stuck in my mind I hope...

Well here we are enjoying a fantastic spring all gardens are looking fab but maybe a bit dry. At ReVampt we have been concerntrating on spreading our ecofriendly ethos through continuing to work with Schools and Community Groups on various projects. With Kensington Palace I worked on ReVampts first fashion project enabling a group of young women to design and begin to make a dress based on one in the Royal Court Collection. Given a fab dress designed by Norman Hartnell for Princess Margaret as the starting point we created moodboards made samples of various techniques that could be used built the dress from scratch on mannequins and are now in the finshing stages of making the dress perfect for a fashion show in July. This was organised with Clement James a community centre in Sheperds Bush doing great things for local people. This has lead to a fantastic commission for two screens to flank the catwalk for the fashion show in July which kicked off with a workshop at the Museum getting ...

Am in the middle of updating the wesbite and am starting afresh with my blog. My previous entries have disappreared into the ether. So I will start again.
My name is Sarah Baulch and I am the Company Director of ReVampt I began four years ago and am working very hard to continue what I started.
ReVampt works out of a studio in Acton West London where we run workshops such as patchwork cushions for people of all ages and skills. We also do the majority of our making in this fab space. Its part of the Perfume Factory a 1930s building that Mary Quant also occupied at one point. Come and visit us at 140 Wales Farm rd London W3 6UG.
We also have a shop in Notting Hill 50 Golbourne rd called Goodnight Vienna where we have collaborated with a vintage furniture company to bring an eco elegant twist to being green. Upcycling has never looked so cool. We have kooky opening hours but are definitely there every Friday and Saturday 106.
